Kevin B. Shrock, M.D., has been dedicated to treating orthopedic Fort Lauderdale patients in the Broward County area since 1994. He is the medical director of Shrock Orthopedic Center & Walk-In Clinic. He is board certified in orthopedic surgery and fellowship trained in sports medicine. His expertise includes arthroscopic and complex reconstruction of the shoulder and knee as well as shoulder, hip, and knee joint replacement, even in younger, more athletic patients. Sylvia Hesse, MD, completed her undergraduate studies at the University of California, San Diego, graduated from Creighton University School of Medicine, did her orthopedic surgery residency at the Fort Worth Affiliated Hospitals and her pediatric orthopedic surgery fellowship at Shriners Hospital For Children in Portland, OR. Dr. Hesse sees a wide variety of patients in our Walk-In Clinic, including pediatric and adult patients presenting with many types of chronic and acute problems and injuries. She does school sports exams too! Dr. Hesse is fluent in English, German and Spanish.

Your medical file is handled with the utmost respect for your privacy. Our staff is bound by strict confidentiality requirements as a condition of employment regarding your medical records. We will not release the contents of your medical file without your consent.
The post-operative recovery period varies based on the particular surgery. Generally, it is recommended patients take two weeks off work to recover from any surgery and to resume light duty following resumption of work. Your surgeon will give you specific instructions to follow for a successful recovery.
You should wait at least one week before driving after surgery. The effects of anesthetic and surgery can affect judgment and reflexes during the first week following your surgery. Your surgeon will provide more specifics for your particular situation.
